CMT BLOG: FAN ENGAGEMENT

How to Incorporate Fan Engagement into Lyric Videos

Lyric videos don’t have to be a one-way presentation; they can also serve as collaborative experiences. Involving your fans in the creative process strengthens their connection to your music while making your videos more unique and personal.

Creating a Shared Creative Space

A simple yet effective way to engage fans is to ask for their interpretations of your lyrics before designing your video. For instance, you could run a social media campaign inviting fans to share what a particular line or song means to them. Their insights can inspire visual motifs or even entire scenes in the video.

Incorporating Fan Contributions

Showcasing your fans’ input directly in the lyric video adds a powerful personal touch. This could include fan art, submitted photos, or even messages from fans. For example, if your song is about overcoming challenges, you might feature uplifting quotes from your followers. These contributions create a sense of community and celebrate the people who support your work.

Making Fans Part of the Rollout

The engagement doesn’t need to stop when the video is released. Use teasers, polls, or behind-the-scenes clips during the production phase to keep your audience involved. You might even ask fans to vote on certain design elements, such as colour schemes or typography.
