CMD grew out of two things I already knew inside out: music and design. After years playing in bands, recording and touring, I knew how much work goes into a release — and how often the visual side ends up feeling like an afterthought.
A one-off lyric video for a local band turned into something much bigger. More than a decade later, I’ve worked with over 1,000 customers, from independent artists to established bands and record labels. See selected work.
Cloud Motion Design was formerly Cloud Music Typography. The name changed as the work expanded, but the focus didn’t: bespoke visual work made specifically for music.
That history matters. A lot of the projects, credits and relationships built under the old name are part of the same studio you’re looking at now.
I’m not interested in making a generic animation and dropping your logo onto it. The track, artwork, genre and release campaign should dictate the visual direction.
That can mean animated typography, artwork animation, compositing, effects, visualisers or a mixture of all of them. The job is to make the visual feel like it belongs to the music.
